Hourly Wage to Annual Salary

How hourly pay rates translate into annual income, weekly checks, and working hours.

How do I convert hourly pay to annual salary?

Multiply your hourly rate by your regular hours per week and paid weeks per year. At $25 an hour for 40 hours a week over 52 weeks, gross annual pay is $52,000.

How much is $20 an hour per year?

$20 an hour equals $41,600 a year at 40 hours a week for 52 paid weeks. That is $800 per week and an average of $3,466.67 per month before taxes.

How much is $25 an hour per year?

$25 an hour equals $52,000 a year under a 40-hour week and 52 paid weeks. If two weeks are unpaid, the same schedule produces $50,000.

How much is $30 an hour per year?

$30 an hour equals $62,400 a year at 40 hours a week for 52 paid weeks. It averages $5,200 a month before taxes and deductions.

How many hours are in a full-time work year?

A 40-hour workweek over 52 weeks equals 2,080 scheduled hours. This is a calculation baseline. Paid time off can reduce hours actually worked without reducing an annual salary.

Annual Salary to Hourly Equivalents

Translating salaries into equivalent hourly wages, monthly averages, and custom schedules.

How do I convert annual salary to hourly pay?

Divide annual gross salary by regular hours per week times paid weeks per year. For a 40-hour week over 52 weeks, divide the annual salary by 2,080.

How much is $50,000 a year per hour?

$50,000 divided by 2,080 scheduled hours equals approximately $24.04 an hour. A different schedule changes that equivalent rate.

How much is $60,000 a year per hour?

Approximately $28.85 per hour at 40 hours per week for 52 weeks. A different schedule changes the equivalent.

How much is $75,000 a year per hour?

Approximately $36.06 per hour under the same 2,080-hour baseline.

How much is $100,000 a year per hour?

Approximately $48.08 per hour using 40 hours per week and 52 weeks.

Is dividing salary by 2,080 always accurate?

No. It is a 40-hour, 52-week baseline. Use the actual hours and weeks that your stated salary covers.

Work Schedules, Leave & Deductions

How unpaid vacation, nonstandard hours, and payroll deductions affect calculations.

Does this calculator include taxes?

No. The results show gross pay before income taxes, insurance, retirement contributions, or other deductions. A paycheck’s net amount will be different.

Can I change how many hours I work?

Yes. Enter your regular hours per week and weeks per year. Advanced options include days per week and unpaid time off. Part-time and nonstandard schedules use the same formulas with your own inputs.

Can I account for unpaid vacation?

Yes. Enter unpaid weeks off. For hourly, daily, weekly, and biweekly inputs, those weeks reduce annual earnings. For annual and monthly salary inputs, the stated salary stays fixed and the equivalent hourly rate changes.

What is the difference between biweekly and semi-monthly pay?

Biweekly means every two weeks, typically 26 checks per year. Semi-monthly means twice each month, or 24 checks per year. The amount per check differs even when annual pay is the same.

Overtime & Paychecks

Understanding overtime rates, pay frequencies, and pay adjustments.

How is time and a half calculated?

Multiply the regular hourly rate by 1.5. A $25 base rate becomes $37.50 per overtime hour. Five overtime hours add $187.50 to weekly pay.

What does double time mean?

Double time means your regular rate multiplied by 2.0. A $25 base rate becomes $50.00 per double-time hour.

How is a gross paycheck calculated?

Hourly gross pay equals regular rate times regular hours, plus overtime and bonuses. Salary gross pay divides annual salary by your pay frequency (52 weekly, 26 biweekly, 24 semi-monthly, or 12 monthly checks).

Is adjusted paycheck pay the same as net take-home pay?

Only if all applicable tax withholdings and deductions were entered. Our tools estimate gross earnings and subtract deductions you explicitly enter without computing statutory taxes.
